What are essential oils?

Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts obtained by steam distillation, cold pressing or resin tapping. Pure essential oils are a lot stronger than the natural plants they are extracted from. Natural plants and essential oils have been used for thousands of years to support health and help balance the body. Essential oils can be used aromatically or topically. Some oils are known to have very beneficial properties for the skin.

While there are many reputable brands of essential oils available, we choose to use essential oils from Young Living.  Although essential oils are "natural" they are extremely concentrated. Everyone has unique body chemistry and oils may work differently for each person. Sometimes you can have a skin sensitivity you where unaware of. Lunaya always recommends testing the product before applying it. Test a small amount on the inner wrist and wait 30 minutes. Should irritation occur, immediately STOP using the product. If you have medical conditions, allergies, taking medications, pregnant or breast feeding ALWAYS consult your doctor before trying essential oils or using Lunaya products.
